Location: Manchester, including travelling within the North West
Salary: 25k - 30k
Benefits: 8% contributory pension scheme, company car with reasonable private mileage allowance
An experienced Key Account Manager, experienced in the Services / Waste industries, is sought to join this family owned and run, independent business in Manchester, covering the North West of England. The organisation is a leading independent commercial & industrial waste management company. They have over a decade of waste management expertise and are driven by service excellence.
The purpose of the Key Account Manager role is to manage existing major accounts to ensure the customers' expectations are achieved. You will be expected to develop new business and defend / retain customers' business when threatened by competitors. The role is predominantly an account management one, and not a sales role.
The ideal Key Account Manager will possess the following skills and experience:
- Substantial experience as a Key Account Manager
- A matu! re, confident working attitude
- The ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Experience of working with / creating spreadsheets to produce P&L's for the contracts you deal with
- Managing existing major accounts in order to ensure the customers' expectations are achieved
- Developing new business and maintaining / increasing gross margins
- Setting up and rolling out new contracts
- Assisting in tendering for new work with existing & new customers
- Liaising with various departments to resolve customer issues such as invoice queries, changes in legislation etc.
- Attending regular review meetings
- Continually appraising contracts to see if service / margins can be improved
