Project Manager/Site Manager responsible for the day to day management of various Civil Minor Works maintenance sch! emes, responsible for effective delivering of national rail projects. Experience in the delivery of Civils, Earth works, Embankments, Bridge and Tunnelling works within the rail sector. This position is suitable for someone who has experience in project delivery ensuring delivery on time, within budget whilst ensuring that client expectations regarding, quality, programme and budget are, wherever possible, exceeded. National Rail experience in essential.
Responsibilities
Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
The monitoring of production of Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets across the Rail Business Unit to ensure such documents are produced on time and to quality which enables safe and efficient delivery of works on site.
The coordination and management of our design consultants to ensure on time delivery of design documents which are of quality which ensures acceptance by National Rail within project timescales. !
The promotion of a continuous improvement culture and! the use of best practice.
The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
Ensuring that, in conjunction with the Site Team, changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Project Manager, where appointed, or the Contracts Manager.
Ensuring that all relevant issues, which cannot be resolved at contract level, are passed for the attention of the Site Agent / Project Manager, where appointed, or the Contracts Manager.
Requirements
Must have a Â"ContractorsÂ" Background and preferably have experience of working with a Major Contractor.
Building and Civil Engineering experience is essential along with experience of Design & Build projects.
Experience of Rail would also be a distinct advantage
Should have a reasonably stable employment background
IT Literate, part! icularly MS Word and MS Excel.
Career Development opportunities exist for the right candidate
Preferably a Degree in an appropriate discipline or HND/HNC
Five Day Site Managers Safety Training Scheme or acceptable alternative (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate).
CSCS Site Managers Card
PTS Certificate.
