More details about this position opportunity please read the description below. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trading Underwriter to join our team based in Manchester.
Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for winning and! retaining profitable business from Brokers in your region. You will be accountable for profitably underwriting new business. You will develop advantageous relationships with your Brokers and in turn, have the opportunity to further develop your underwriting and trading skills and those of other Underwriters within your region.
Key Accountabilities
You will be accountable for
developing effective working relationships with Trading Regions and the newly created Underwriting Centre to support in the delivery of our overall objectives
supporting the delivery of New Business financial plan â€"including delivery of your personal New Business GWP Target
supporting the delivery of Existing Business financial plan (including rate carry and retention)
delivering a first class Broker service in line with Broker segmentation service levels
underwriting in accordance with your Personal Underwriting Authority, (PUA), and Und! erwriting guidelines to meet your required profit targets
!
acting as a referral point for the lower level PUA's and support in improving Underwriting capability
contributing to wider business activities within Commercial, including providing support to the Regional Underwriters
carrying out a daily quote sift
Skills you'll need
The successful candidate will have
extensive Commercial trading experience, with a new business focus
have demonstrable selling and trading skills
strong commercial and business acumen
the ability to interact effectively with the Broker market
strong stakeholder management skills
demonstrable communication skills
