Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We work with girls aged 5-25 and with over 100,000 committed volunteers! , we are able to provide a girl-only space for our young members to have fun, build brilliant friendships and challenge themselves every week.
With an exciting and diverse guiding programme, we give girls and young women the chance to explore their full potential and raise their aspirations. They are able to develop their own opinions and are encouraged to work together to be a powerful force for good in their communities. By listening to our young members, we constantly evolve and adapt what we offer them without losing what makes us uniquely us. We provide support, comfort and friendship in what can often seem a complex world for girls as they grow up.

Our camps, holidays and trips give girls the chance to embark on new adventures. With an exciting mixture of traditional and modern activities, our girls and young women can choose anything from orienteering and abseiling to zorbing, quad-biking and zip-wiring!
Twi! ce a year Girlguiding hosts it’s hugely popular concert, BIG! GIG, which welcomes more than 20,000 Guides and boasts performances from some of the biggest artists around.
Eccles
Girlguiding Greater Manchester is welcoming any enthusiastic and committed individuals to join their friendly team. In particular, they are seeking new volunteers to help run and support Rainbow groups in Eccles, Manchester.
Rainbow groups are for girls aged 5 to 7 that meet one evening a week for a couple of hours. Your role would include supervising these meetings, organising weekly activities and building relationships with other volunteers and parents or guardians of the girls. There are lots of rewarding opportunities for local women to become group leaders and we welcome both men and women to help us with our administration and in activity support.
If you have some time to spare, this is a rewarding opportunity for those who want to make a difference to girls’ lives in the local community. As well as being a great w! ay to make new friends, it’s brilliant experience for anyone training to be a teacher or wanting to work with young people.
We know that our volunteers are essential to Girlguiding so we provide plenty of opportunities for you to gain qualifications, experience new places and make some unforgettable memories.
All volunteers would be DBS checked and fully supported in their roles.
