My Client in Manchester is looking for Project Manager that can drive projects forward in a faced paced environment. Following an i! nternal project framework and governance processes, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Project Management (plan, prioritise, organise, manage project resources and facilitate) of projects allocated to the Project Portfolio.
The candidate is required to work closely with the business and business change team to extract business requirements and technical specifications. In addition, the position will require some degree of technical knowledge to help ensure that technical and development designs/strategies will meet the business need and provide an effective user experience. This position would suit someone with a previous varied technical background that made a transition to a project team.
As stated above, there will be a need to interface with business stakeholders, supplier resources & subject matter experts as required, to extract and implement business requirements & technologies, manage resources and ensure stringent project timesca! les are met.The ideal candidate will also have good leadership! and organisational skills, ability to prioritise effectively, be self-motivated and self-directed with an ability to prioritise and execute tasks independently. Experience in managing numerous full lifecycle concurrent projects is essential.
Main Duties:
- Work with Portfolio Manager to define and document project scope, objectives, deliverables and timescales as part of the firm's project governance controls.
- Analyse and obtain requirements from subject matter experts in partnership with Application developers and Technical Engineers, in order to select and implement that appropriate technology that is tailored to the needs of the business.
- Conduct 'Gap Analysis' to identify issues and risks to the project and business, identify mitigations and solutions and liaise with the business to resolve them as part of the project.
- Agree critical success factors and align to 'User Acceptance' strategy with business users for new! developments..
- Manage the full lifecycle of projects using the most appropriate methodologies and following internal project governance processes, instilling confidence in project sponsors and stakeholders by demonstrating absolute control of the project, its risks and issues etc. through comprehensive but pragmatic documentation.
- Create clear concise and unambiguous project documentation that is tailored to the needs of the audience.
- Create budgets and manage costs effectively.
- Supplier management and 3rd party resource management.
- Create, monitor, update and manage project plans using MS Project and Visio.
- Provide low level requirements gathering/analysis.
- Co-ordinate the design process with the IT developers and Operations team members.·Understand the chain of command within the business and navigate this with diligence in order to ensure all obstacles are overcome to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Have a strong customer service orientation around delivering the ! right services to the right place at the right time using the IT teams as the mechanism.
- Provide professional timely project updates to the project stakeholders and the wider business, through reports and project meetings.
- Report to line management at regular intervals on work in progress.
- Work with people within the business and engender good quality relationships in order to extract relevant information.
- Broker high quality relationships with internal supporting departments.
- Uphold the values of the business throughout all IT deployments.
- Prince 2 certified up to foundation level
- A good understanding of Agile Development/Project methodologies
- Project Planning using MS Project
- 5 years' experience in a project management/project lead role, within a professional services organisation.
- Has a sound understanding of technology.
- Understanding of Case Management Systems
