This is a superb opportunity for a high achieving transport/distribution/logistics leader to make a significant contribution to the future development of this long established and well respected company. The client is a highly successful 75m subsidiary of a well known 500m Group, whose combined activities include transport and logistics, commercial vehicle supply and service, trailer manufacture and other transport related services. Operating throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, the Group has a long standing reputation for its superb products, high calibre people and quality service delivery. With future growth on the agenda, a talented Managing Director is required to lead the Groups transport and logistics division to the next stage of its evolution.
Reporting to the Group Managing Director and with full P&L accountability, responsibility is for the full operational managemen! t and inspirational leadership of this business. Your key focu! s will be on driving profitability in line with Group expectations, developing and executing strategies which enhance revenue and margin. The challenge will be to take this already excellent company to greater levels of success using your first class people management skills, sales and operational expertise, vision and dynamic approach. You will work closely with your management team developing business opportunity, ensuring the delivery of top quality customer service, building a first class team and continually improving overall efficiency and performance.
The role requires an outstanding candidate, with an impressive pedigree in driving business growth in a transport, distribution, logistics, road haulage environment. Commercially astute and with significant leadership capability, you will be comfortable and experienced operating at senior level, managing large teams through your exceptional people management, communication and relationship building skills. By nature! you will be a high achiever, combining a sharp strategic business mind with excellent analytical and numerical awareness. In style you will be hands on, proactive, resilient and inspirational. Above all you will be self motivated with the drive, energy and ambition to take this business to the next level.
