We are proud winners of prestigious awards for effectiveness and innovation and as part of our planned growth; we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced DevOps Manager to join our Manchester based team. This is a new role within LYNX and you will be working closely with our Software Engineering team, whilst also drawing on the expertise of our existing I.T. Support team; in order to manage and monitor new and existing I.T. architecture. Successful applicants for this role are likely to have either a softwa! re engineering background and have since moved towards system ! operations, or have a solid systems operations background and have worked closely with Software Engineers in a development environment. Although not expected to be fully proficient in coding, strong experience with scripting is key, as is an awareness of development processes; exposure to the agile methodology in particular, would be beneficial.
We operate across both Linux and Microsoft, therefore experience with both would be ideal, as would experience in the monitoring of software, experience in supporting and setting up web servers (such as IIS, NGinx or Apache) and you should also have a degree of knowledge with RDMS Databases (SQL). In addition, exposure to automated deployment software such as Chef or Puppet would be beneficial and you should be confident in advising when security features would be appropriate to use for a given project. There may also be an element of customer support within this role, so candidates should be happy to support clients remote! ly during working hours, as required.
