This is an opportunity to work in the Forecasting department within Merchandising as an Information Analyst. The overall purpose of the role is to analyse, execute and manage new and existing forecasting processes.
Information Analyst: The role
- undertaking various analyses that explain customer & product behaviour from a merchandising viewpoint
- translating this understanding into reports that inform and assist the end user
- translating this understanding into processes and formulae that can be controlled within the existing merchandise forecasting and budgeting system
- assisting in the design of new processes and systems as required to deliver the above
- working with the training team to implement any changes
- develop and enhance the current MI suites produced by the department
- being involved, or managing, ! a series of small to large projects developing analytical or i! nformation solutions for a wide range of business issues
- an ultimate aim of identifying areas & actions which can generate revenue and maximise profit
- generally assisting the Forecasting & Reporting Development Manager
- GCSE Maths C+ or equivalent. A degree would be desirable but would prefer strong commercial experience
- experience in a retail environment, particularly forecasting. Additional web experience would be ideal
- ability to demonstrate strong awareness and use of business MI tools in particular SQL, Business Objects and all applications within Microsoft Office Suite.
- a demonstrable track record of the development and use of MI to resolve business issues
- strong communication skills
