We are seeking an enthusiastic transport planner to join a busy and growing planning team in our Manchester office. The candidate will be involved in preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans for a diverse portfolio of projects including major building and infrastructure works. This role will provide the opportunity to manage projects, provide mentoring to junior staff and to undertake business development. Working more widely with other Arup offices there are opportunities to travel and contribute to other projects of national importance. This role will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with good communication skills with an ambition to work on exciting and high profile schemes.
Role
- Work with others in the Manchester/Leeds planning team
- Assist in preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans for new development projects including buildings and major infrastructure schemes.
- Undertake transport modelling
- As! sist in preparing Transport Chapters of Environmental Impact A! ssessments
- Represent Arup at client meetings and in meetings with collaborators
- Liaise and negotiate with Transport Development Planning Officers
- Report writing and giving presentations
- Bachelors qualification (Masters preferred) in Transport Planning or other relevant degree
- Experience of the transport planning process and prior involvement in preparing planning applications
- Knowledge of local and national planning policy
