The Performing Arts Department at the Shena Simon Campus is now looking for an experienced Technician to provide comprehensive support on productions, in particular to specialise in lighting requirements.
As a Technician you will maintain/source/service all materials required by staff for curriculum delivery and assessment, providing or assisting as required with all supporting aspects of FE/HE productions, performing classes, examinations/assessments and
other college wide events.
Although predominantly based at their City Centre campus, you will also be working on productions and events at the College’! s Nicholls and North Manchester Sixth Form Campuses and extern! al venues as appointed.
As directed by the Divisional Lead Manager and Lead Technician, you will work as part of a dynamic team to provide 1
st
class technical support in all areas of theatre with experience in lighting (including design), managing and auditing all stock
and technical resources as needed, ensuring that staff and students are able to utilise equipment as and when required.
Qualified to HND/Foundation degree/City & Guilds Apprenticeship or with equivalent professional experience, the successful Theatre Technician will have significant, relevant knowledge with an emphasis in lighting and design. You will need a friendly, approachable
manner, proactive with good communicative skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure, in order to successfully monitor materials and provide technical support not only in a production based role but managing the department resources across
a multi-disciplined team whi! ch includes work in 3D workshop, props, wardrobe and the sound department.
