Key Tasks & responsibilities:
Front End Optioneeering studies.Producing mechanical handling schematics, engineering deliverables and checking other engineers work where applicable. Must have a good working knowledge of commonly used handling methods and materials and good understanding of the relevant Nuclear standards and EH&S legislation.
Use technical writing skills and experience to support the delivery of project related documents, i.e.
Specifications, Data Sheets, Bid Tabulations, Material requisitions. Selection, specification, evaluation and testing of various mechanical handling equipment in accordance with international standards.
Salary Range: £45000 - £ 55000 per annum

PURPOSE OF JOB
To carry out design work in his/her specialist discipline group.
Principal Accountabilities
To carry out specific design tasks delegated to him by the pro! ject discipline Engineer or Engineering Manager as appropriate! .
To be responsible for supervision of Engineers or other staff assigned to him by the project discipline Engineer or Engineering Manager.
To be responsible for checking of design work in accordance with Company Procedures and approval of design work when authority has
been delegated by the Engineering Manager.
To carry out design tasks on proposals, delegated to him by the proposal discipline Engineer or the Engineering Manager.
To assist the project discipline Engineer in planning for adequate resources and in monitoring and reporting design progress and manhour usage.
To liaise with other disciplines as required.
To provide support to Sales Department and Construction/Commissioning Departments as required.
To comply with Company Policy with regard to safety and environment.
To be aware of legal and organizational responsibilities regarding Health, Safety and Environmental issues with respect! to employees, contractors, clients and third parties, ensuring that activities are managed in accordance with Company policy and Client requirements.
Note
In the above descriptions the term "design" is used in its broadest sense and covers design calculations, specifications, equipment selection and bid evaluation, requisitioning of equipment, approval of suppliers documentation and provision of contract documentation.
Nature and Scope of Position
The job holder reports to the Chief Engineer
On projects Engineers may report to the job holder.
Ensure personal compliance with current company policy, relevant legislation and company
And clients requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental matters and work in such a
Manner not to cause personal harm or injury to fellow workers, client and subcontractors
Knowledge and Skills
A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineerin! g or related discipline.
Commensurate experience in his/her di! scipline or closely related discipline.

HNC/D B.Eng / B.Sc
Commensurate experience in Nuclear based environment
M.Sc /M.Eng MIMechE / C Eng
CSCS Card Level Required
