For complete informations about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. The 1st Line IT Support Engineer will be the first point of contact for all IT related queries. This will include setting up new desktops (PC's and laptops), troubleshooting and resolving ! printer and connectivityissues, account administration, helpdesk support, creating reports, end user training etc.
The 1st Line IT Support Engineer will be form part of a small IT team that support 160 people across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their technical skills and get exposure to network and server administration. The business has invested in the latest Microsoft technologies and there will be in house training given to the successful candidate.
Other technologies used in the business are VMWare, Exchange 2010, Dell EquaLogic SANs, SQL Server 2008, Windows Server 2003 / 2008 R2, Cisco Firewalls, Cisco VPN's, Windows 7, VoIP, SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Dynamics NAV etc.
Who we're looking for
A well presented and professional individual with a passion for technology and a desire to learn new skills. This 1st Line IT Support Engineer role will be suitable for someone who has gained basic IT support skil! ls, either through employment or education, and is now looking! to develop those further and apply them in a commercial and corporate environment.
The successful candidate must have excellent communications skills as they will be providing support to business users in person and over the telephone. The role will require some travel across the UK and a drivers licence is essential.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7) is essential, along with good knowledge of Office 2007/2010.
Microsoft certifications are preferred.
