We are looking for AIX Administrator based in Copley, Pudsey, Manchester, Edinburgh for one of our esteemed IT services client:
Title: AIX Administrator Location: Copley/Pudsey/Manchester/Edinburgh Duration: ! 3 Months Rolling
Role & Responsibilities The purpose of AIX Administrator role is to work as high end L2 Technical Specilaist for Unix platform (predominantly pSeries) with the following accountabilities:
Provide Unix Maintenance and Support Provide UNIX technical input into the End-to-end Project Design (E2EPD) Build / implement UNIX technical infrastructure in accordance with designs Provide support for UNIX technical infrastructure during the delivery of a project and throughout warranty Provide delivery handovers to UNIX BAU Support Produce and maintain UNIX technical standards and documentation QA designs, builds, documentation and standards produced by peers
Essential This is a L2+ role to perform project support or to provide technical support for the BAU operations. The details can be seen in the table above.
Essential Skills: Technical Specialist with good experience of high end L2 experience in the following areas/technologies: AIX Syst! ems Administration field experience Power5/6 VIO server, micro! partitioning and dual VIOS configuration P-Series Power4 & Power5, power 6, Power 7 hardware Power4 & Power5 , power 6, Power 7 HMC’s, CuOD and DLPAR configurations CSM / NIM LPAR installation, configuration and support AIX 5.2 & AIX 5.3, Aix 6.X and AIX 7.X installation, configuration and migration HACMP 5.X, 6.X and 7.X installation, configuration and migration Shell scripting ESS SAN storage, configuring and supporting (using 2105 compatible multi-path drivers) LUN’s within volume groups and in highly available configurations SVC Storage, configuring and supporting (using 2145 compatible multi-path drivers) LUN’s within volume groups and in highly available configurations Excellent Oral and Written Communication
Desirables skills: Blade server install/configuration PSSP SP attached installation, configuration and support LDAP/AD & Kerberos Authentication SSH Oracle 11G WAS HMC upgrades Perl scripting Tivoli storage manager Tivoli Monitoring (TEC/ITM)
