The largest of our UK practices, Audit is concerned with developing a deep understanding of organisations and helping to assure stakeholders that the published annual accounts are a true and fair reflection of their financial performances and positions.
Within the public sector we provide services to key areas such as health, government, housing, education and other publicly funded non-profit organisations. The remit is wider than the straightforward annual auditing of the financial records (often referred to as external audit) we also help organisations to make good use of taxpayers funds and support the delivery of improved services.

In general terms your role will involve:
- Proactively look to become an integral part of the audit team, create good contacts and develop relationships with the members of our clients finance teams
- Be part of the department and attend social and networking events in order to develop your relationships and wider knowledge of both audit and a Big 4 environment
- General audit work; for example: working on the audit of a grant claim at a council, such as checking student loans were only paid to eligible students
- Researching potential clients to help win new business
- Helping to deliver internal audit reviews by assessing operational and financial processes within hospitals, housing associations and universities
- Carrying out core financial systems audits as part of our interim and final accounts audit teams
During the vacation scheme you will not be ! required to work towards any
Professional Qualifications .
Our Requirements
As a general rule, you'll be expected to meet the following requirements:
- Minimum grade B GCSE* Maths
- Minimum grade B GCSE* English Language
- Minimum of 320 UCAS Tariff points (or 26 UCAS points)
- Predicted 2:1 degree in any discipline.
