The Company
An international Medical Communications Agency in Manchester seeks an experienced Senior Medical Editor
The position
Projects include ! a diverse range of materials: complex training programmes (educational slide sets and printed training manuals), meeting materials and signage, product monographs, scientific publications, websites and apps.
In addition to project delivery, you will be responsible for organizing the weekly Editorial resourcing for their Business Unit, and are expected to provide support and mentoring for junior members of the team, and to deliver training for the wider company, as appropriate.
This is an office-based role with no expectation of home-working or extensive travel.
Skills and abilities
Excellent English language skills and ability to adapt editing style to different materials, target audiences and therapy areas
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and PowerPoint) is crucial, including experience of creation/modification of templates, figure redrawing and fine formatting
Adept at communicating clearly and wor! king effectively, collaborating with colleagues and teams both! in the same office and in other offices
Capable of leading the Editorial support for specific Business Units, organizing and planning resource on a weekly basis
Experience of referencing software (e.g. Reference Manager, Endnote) and an understanding of databases is beneficial
Qualifications and experience
Degree-educated in a science subject
Medical communications agency experience strongly preferred
3+ years of experience of medical editing and day-to-day involvement with detailed QC checks
Microsoft Office applications - primarily PowerPoint, Word
BSI standard proofing marks
Adobe Acrobat - electronic mark-up
Referencing software experience useful
